What sort of beef do you sell?
Our cattle are a combination of first-cross Angus and Speckle Park beef cattle. The beef we produce is grass-fed and free of hormonal growth promotants (HGPs).

When will the cattle be processed?
The cattle will be sent for slaughter once they are in prime condition. We communicate with pre-order customers to keep them informed about the anticipated delivery date of their meat package.

Where will the cattle be processed?
The cattle will be processed at Radfords Abbattoir (Warragul) and delivered to Murphy’s meats in Trafalgar.

How does the ordering process work?

  1. View our range of meat packages and complete the enquiry form linked to the package.

  2. Once we have received your enquiry we will send an invoice for the package deposit and a form to complete so you can select your preferred beef cuts. We will also provided an estimated collection/delivery date.

  3. We will contact you to advise of the confirmed collection date. Once the carcass has been weighed by the butcher we will provide you with a final invoice (due prior to collection/delivery).

Can I customise my order?
Yes. A form will be provided so that you can select preferred cuts for different areas of the carcass. We can also liaise with the butcher if you have any special requests (additional costs may apply).

Where do I collect my order from?
Collection will be available from Murphy’s meats in Trafalgar by prior arrangement. Delivery is free within 50kms of Trafalgar. Charges apply outside of that area.

How much room do i need for a 1/8th beef pack?
A 1/8th beef pack will fit inside a box with these dimensions. 10.5 cm(H)x36.0 cm(W)x50.0 cm(D).

How long does beef keep in the freezer for?
According to Prime Safe (the Statutory Authority responsible for regulating meat, poultry, seafood and pet food in Victoria, Australia), the shelf life of frozen beef portions can be up to 8 months (at -12 degrees) (further information is available here).

Do you have a refund policy prior to collection?
We understand that circumstances can change and do our best to accommodate your needs throughout the ordering process. Up until a steer has been slaughtered, we can negotiate a refund of your deposit. After a steer has been processed, your deposit will be forfeited if you do not proceed with your order.
